I am one of three Conservative Councillors for Hersham North and have lived in Elmbridge for nearly 40 years - 30 of which have been in Hersham.

Born and educated in Salisbury, Wiltshire I then spent some years working in radio and TV production at the BBC, covering a wide variety of programmes from Mrs Dale's Dairy to Points of View and Film '71 (now still running as Film 2010 !). Marriage followed (to John Sheldon, Councillor for Hersham South), we have 3 grown-up children and one grandson. In 1976 we moved to Italy for a 4 year period, returning to England in 1980 to live in Hersham. For some years I worked as a voluntary organiser for Age Concern Elmbridge, combining this role with that of part-time work in market research.

Being a Councillor means listening and speaking up strongly for all local residents on many issues. It also means I can represent the Council on external organisations and I am fortunate to do this as a Trustee of Walton on Thames Charity.

Along with my fellow Hersham North Councillor Ian Donaldson, together with Ruth Mitchell, John O'Reilly and John Sheldon in Hersham South, we work as a united team to serve the community.

I am currently Chairman of the North Area Planning Sub-Committee and Vice Chairman of Planning. Also a member of the Licensing Committee and Affordable Housing Member Panel.

Please don't hesitate to call me if you have a local issue or problem with Elmbridge Borough Council.
My home telephone number is 01372 467812.
