Current commitmentsI currently sit on the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Affordable Housing Member Panel. I am also one of two Council representatives on the |Walton, Weybridge & Hersham Citizens' Advice Bureau Management Committee. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee meets roughly once a month. It looks and scrutinises the decisions made by the Cabinet and has several work and task groups. The details are |here. The next meeting is on Thursday 14th June. The Affordable Housing Member Panel oversees the operation of the Council's affordable housing policies and to debate and consider site disposal matters and use of the Council's Affordable Housing Enabling Fund. In addition, Full Council meetings are held six times a year. The next meeting is on Wednesday 16th May. I currently sit on two working groups. I am chairman of the 2012 Legacy Projects Working Group, looking at ways we can celebrate and leave a permanent legacy in the borough of the London Olympic Games and The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. In January 2012, I was appointed to the Localism Working Group, which will review the Localism Act and consider its implications for Elmbridge Borough Council. Previous commitmentsI sat on the Walton Town Centre Advisory Group from May 2010 until the Group was disbanded in February 2011. The Group was created to oversee the re-development in Walton, including the Heart, and was disbanded upon the completion of the re-development. From May 2010 to May 2011, I sat on the North Area Planning Sub-Committee. It meets every third Monday to discuss and decide upon planning applications in the area.
