Allowances for Councillors
Report of the independent Remuneration Panel
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2001, the Council has received recommendations from an Independent Remuneration Panel appointed in accordance with the Local Government Act 2000 regarding the allowances paid to councillors.
The Council at its meeting held on 3 December, 2008, considered the recommendations of the Independent Remuneration Panel of the Members' Allowances Scheme for implementation with effect 1 April, 2009 and agreed that:
- the Basic and Special Responsibility Allowances should not be increased with effect from 1st April, 2009 but should continue at their current level.
The details of the allowances payable for 2009/10 are set out below:
