Councillor Bennison is a Conservative Member and Cobham & Downside Ward Councillor also

Surrey County Councillor for Hinchley Wood, Claygate & Oxshott

Having been bought up in Elmbridge and lived Long Ditton during my early years and in Cobham for over 20 years.

As an Airline Pilot for some 35 years I ended up as a senior Captain with British Airways.

Some six years ago, I was delighted to be Elected as a Conservative Councillor by the people of Cobham and downside, our Elmbridge Borough Council seat. This was followed by my election as a Surrey County Councillor for Hinchley Wood, Claygate and Oxshott.

I believe this gives me a great deal of experience on how Local Government operates.

My committees are the |Environmental Overview and Scrutiny, |Corporate Affairs Overview and Scrutiny, and Licensing.

Licensing includes important issues such as Alcohol & Gambling Casinos licences. I have stressed the concerns that many of us have on the Casino issue and I played my part in asking for Public consultation on the pros and cons of having one in Elmbridge.
