You can help us make a difference
Helping older and disabled people is at the heart of Community Support Services. We support local older and disabled people by offering a range of support services to enable them to remain independent and to stay at home.
There are many interesting and varied volunteering tasks available. Volunteering is great fun, it keeps you fit and active, it can also assist you with future careers.

- Organising a Meals-on-Wheels round?
- Organising an activity from art to guided walks?
- Escorting on outings, particularly during Summer months?
If you would like to know more, please contact your local Centre Manager.
- Meals-on-Wheels (drivers & escorts)
The Meals-on-Wheels Service delivers about 1,200 meals a week to older vulnerable and disabled people in the community. The meals are delivered by dedicated volunteers who really make a difference to the lives of others.
- A mileage rate starting at 45p a mile is paid to cover petrol costs.
- Each round takes approximately 1 to 2 hours at weekends and 30 minutes to 1½ hours at weekdays.
We offer flexible arrangements, if you have a few spare hours a week or every now and again - you can make a real difference.
