Below is an example of our offering for stroke support at the Walton Centre for the Community.
The Walton Stroke Group welcomes anyone who has experienced a stroke and their carers and is a great way to meet people on a regular basis who understand and have experienced a stroke. Members can also gain advice and support from the staff at the Walton Centre. There are a number of activities offered by the group
You are welcome to stay for a lunch that is prepared by the centre at a cost of £3.90.
Members value the support the group has to offer, one member of the group said: "I was part of the first committee of the stroke group in 1987 as a volunteer. I then had a stroke myself, which left my right arm paralysed. The stroke group has been a wonderful part of my life ever since, with its outings, holidays and weekly meetings."
A physiotherapist is available solely for the stroke group on Monday mornings and afternoons that has access to the gym equipment in the Walton Wellbeing Centre and can help to support you with your mobility after your stroke.
Please contact our transport team in order to discuss the transport options available to you.
