The Community Alarm Service is available to all residents of Elmbridge. It is especially designed for disabled, older or vulnerable people enabling them to retain their independence.
We are there when no-one else is!
At the touch of a button you can receive assistance in an emergency 24 hours a day.
By pressing the pendant, the alarm is activated and a call is automatically made to a care centre, this is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Without having to get to the phone, the caller can then speak to a specially trained operator, who will respond to their needs and organise appropriate assistance. The current fee for the service is £3.70 per week. This may be paid either quarterly (£48.10) or monthly (£16.03). VAT will be payable unless an exemption declaration can be signed.
The Community Alarm Service can also help with falls prevention by providing falls sensors and with home safety through smoke and flood alarms linked to the main community alarm system. For more information |download the community alarm information leaflet, contact 01372 474560, |e-mail Community Alarm Team, or alternatively you may wish to |complete the Community Alarm enquiry form.
The Community Alarm service is working in partnership with Surrey County Council and other Borough and District Councils to provide a community alarm free of charge to people aged 65 and over on discharge from hospital. The service is offered for a 12 week recuperative period. After the 12 week period the normal weekly fee as charged by the Council becomes payable. There is no obligation to keep the alarm after this free period and if it is not wanted then it will be uninstalled at no cost to the user. For more information on this scheme |e-mail the Community Alarm Team.
