What is Sure Start ?

Sure Start brings together childcare, early education, health and family-support services for families with children under 5 years old. It is a government programme which aims to achieve better outcomes for children, parents and communities by:

• Increasing the availability of childcare for all children
• Improving health and emotional development for young children
• Supporting parents as parents and in their aspirations towards employment

Is it just for Parents and Carers?
No. Childminders, Playgroups, Resident Associations and others are all welcome to have their say. We want everybody who has an interest in families with young children to become involved. It's your chance to tell the government what you need to make life better for you and your children
