DisabledGo Elmbridge Online Access Guide

In March 2009 Elmbridge's first online disabled access guide was launched as part of the national DisabledGo website.

The Elmbridge section on this site presents detailed access information of 1,000 venues across Elmbridge to help people with a disability know in advance whether a venue is accessible or not in relation to their specific disability.

This guide eases access to local amenities, bars, clubs, pubs, shops, restaurants and services, and encourage greater use, by both disabled residents and visitors and at the same time encouraging patronage to local businesses.

Elmbridge Borough Council has funded this initiative, allowing Elmbridge to join nearly 60 UK towns, cities and areas on this award winning website.

Look out for the DisabledGo Elmbridge Window Stickers

One thousand DisabledGo Elmbridge window stickers have been sent out to businesses and premises included in the initial access assessments carried out.

The window stickers are there to raise the profile of the online access guide and to help people easily recognise if there is access information available online about the premises. (These window stickers and not meant as an endorsement of whether a venue is accessible or not.)

Other DisabledGo Access Guides

DisabledGo has also worked with two health care institutions that cover the Elmbridge area.
