Section 17 Crime and Disorder Act 1998

Elmbridge Borough Council is committed to complying with the principles of Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

The Act states each authority needs to do all it reasonably can to prevent crime and disorder and to ensure services give due regard to crime and disorder.

Environmental Care

The council has a dedicated Street Smart Team which is fully equipped and trained to deliver environmental improvement works across the Borough.

Leisure and Cultural Services

The council offers positive activities for young people to reduce antisocial behaviour opportunities as part of its mainstream Leisure and Cultural Services.

Housing Services

Elmbridge Borough Council remains committed to reducing Benefit Fraud and punishing those who commit it.

Environmental Health & Licensing

The council takes action to reduce noise nuisance as part of its mainstream Environmental Health services.

Community Support Services

The council helps the safety of older people and vulnerable adults as part of its Community Support Services
