Election and Registration Information

The Council is responsible for the administration of all public elections held within the Borough of Elmbridge, covering referendums, parish, borough, county, UK parliamentary and European parliamentary elections.

|How to register to vote
You need to fill in an electoral registration form. Between August and November you can register using the form sent to your property. At other times of the year, you can complete an individual voter registration form.

|Can I ask somebody else to vote for me?
If you may not be able to get to your polling station and would prefer not to have a postal vote, you can appoint somebody else to act as your proxy.

|Apply to vote by post
Anybody who is registered to vote can apply to vote by post, without having to give a reason. You can apply for a postal vote on a permanent or temporary basis.

|Who has access to the Electoral Register?
There are two versions of the register - the full version and edited version. Your details must always appear on the full version, but you can choose whether or not your details appear on the edited version of the register.
