Electoral Services

The Council is responsible for the administration of all public elections held within the Borough of Elmbridge, covering referendums, parish, borough, county, UK parliamentary and European parliamentary elections.

|The Electoral Register
The Council publishes a new Register of Electors on 1st December each year. We send a household voter registration form to every residential property in the borough at the end of August each year and use the information you give us to publish the new Register.

|Who has access to the Electoral Register?
The Electoral Registration Officer maintains two versions of the Register of Electors. These are known as the Full Register and the Edited Register.

|How can I vote by post?
Anybody who is registered to vote can apply to vote by post, without having to give a reason. You can apply for a postal vote for all elections or just for one kind (e.g. local elections).

|Can I ask somebody else to vote for me?
If you may not be able to get to your polling station and would prefer not to have a postal vote, you can appoint somebody else to act as your proxy and go to the polling station on your behalf.
