The 2013 Review of Parliamentary constituencies in England - South East region initial proposals

The Boundary Commission for England is the independent body that reviews all Parliamentary constituencies in England. Between 13 September and 5 December 2011 a public consultation was held on their initial proposals for the new parliamentary constituencies.

All representations received by the closing date were published on 6 March 2012 and an opportunity was given for people to comment on them until 3 April 2012.

Further information, including details of the representations, are available at the |Boundary Commission For England website.

Electoral Review of Surrey: Final Recommendations

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published a report setting out its final recommendations for electoral arrangements in Surrey County Council.

A consultation period ran from from 19 July 2011 until 10 October 2011 allowing residents to have their say about where division boundaries for Surrey should be drawn. The Local Government Boundary Commission for England considered all submissions and published its final recommendations in January 2012. These recommendations will now be submitted to the Houses of Parliament who will then have 40 days in which to consider the recommendations. If both Houses are satisfied with the recommendations, the draft order will be 'made' and the new electoral divisions will come into effect at the county council elections in May 2013.

For further information about the Review, please see the |Local Government Boundary Commission's website.
