Council Performance
We want to provide the best possible services to our residents while maintaining value for money. To achieve this, we constantly monitor and manage our performance to identify areas of excellence and of further improvement.
|Corporate Plan
This Corporate Plan is our strategic planning document. It sets out what our priorities and plans are for the municipal year, which runs from the beginning of April to the end of March. Throughout the year, we use this Plan to check and monitor our performance.
|Performance Indicators
Every year we report on our performance indicators showing what we have achieved in each area against our targets.
|Value for Money Reviews
As part of our commitment to meet our residents' high expectations of our services and our efficient use of taxpayers' money, we undertook an ambitious programme of value for money reviews. Over the past 2 years, we reviewed all of our services to identify those areas where we can make ourselves more cost-effective.
|Vision and Key Developments
Our vision for Elmbridge sets out our aims and priorities for the Borough. Each year we agree a set of key developments which will help us achieve this vision.
|Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA)
In December 2003, the Audit Commission (the local government watchdog) conducted a comprehensive performance assessment of our performance and the services we provide. Following this assessment, we were rated as 'Excellent' - the highest possible rating.
|Use of Resources
The Audit Commission also audits all local authorities on their 'use of resources' every year. We are evaluated on how well we have used our resources to deliver excellent value for money services to our residents. This year we were one of only 13 district councils in the country to be awarded the highest rating of 4 out of 4.
