Business Licences and Permits
Many activities require licences, permits or registration, some of which are issued by Elmbridge Borough Council, others by Surrey County Council.
|Environmental Health & Licensing are responsible for:
- |alcohol and public entertainment
- |animal welfare - including animal boarding, pet shops and riding establishments
- |charitable collections and |lottery licences
- |environmental permits
- |food premises registration
- |gambling
- |skin piercing - including tattooing
- |taxis and minicabs
|Surrey Trading Standards are responsible for:
- storing or selling of petroleum or hazardous substances e.g. fireworks
- special personal treatments e.g. massage
- |restrictions on the age of people allowed to buy certain goods e.g. cigarettes and alcohol
- You may need a |fire certificate to comply with fire safety regulations, particularly if you manage premises used for public entertainment.
- You will need |a road licence or permit to put up banners, bunting or festive lights, and for skips, scaffolding or building materials on public roads. You will also need a licence for Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) or if you intend to operate a public weighbridge.
