Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund Successful Projects
Here are some of the projects that have received a grant from the Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund (ECIF):
Successful projects
The Naked Grocer
Mr Chris Bavin of "The Naked Grocer" in Bridge Street, Walton-on-Thames was the first recipient from the fund which has been set up to benefit the local economy and attract people to local businesses. The grant was to help with the new shop signage.
On receiving the funding, Mr Bavin said: "It is great that the ECIF has been set up to create a better shopping environment in Elmbridge and we believe that smaller independent shops give a better and more village like feel to Walton town but they must be supported otherwise you will only have the supermarkets and empty shops for choice!"
Cobham in Bloom
The Cobham in Bloom Working Group received a grant from the Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund towards some wooden tubs, a water bowser (to enable easier watering access to the tubs, baskets and troughs) and winter planting. We are looking forward to seeing the fruits of the planting once the snow and frost has been left behind!
Claygate Christmas Event 2009
The Claygate Village Hall Association were supported in their annual Christmas Event by a grant that helped to purchase some long-lasting banners.
Claygate Shopping Experience - Hanging signs
The Claygate Shopping Experience is a group of businesses who work together to attract people to the local shops in Claygate. Some of the businesses now have hanging signs outside their shops improving the street scene and providing a common look and feel to the local shops.
Ditton Flowers
