Business grant scheme

About the grant scheme

The Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund (ECIF) offers money to Elmbridge businesses to support business growth and boost the local economy.

To date the fund has provided over £1,150,000 to local businesses and projects, with over 240 applications having been approved. Grants of up to 90% are available.

The types of projects that the scheme supports include:

  • improving shop fronts and signage

  • promotions and marketing initiatives

  • learning and skills or training initiatives

  • fat, oil and grease (FOG) interceptors for restaurant and catering premises

Help us celebrate independent businesses!

Join us on 4 July from 10-11am to celebrate the success of our excellent independent local businesses. A networking event will be held at the Civic Centre to recognise the success of the Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund. To date more than 250 applications have been approved and over £700,000 invested in our town centres.

At the same event we will celebrate the launch of the Elmbridge Independent Retail Awards for 2018. The Awards give residents the chance to recognise the exceptional local businesses in our Borough by voting for their favourites.

Prospective applicants are welcome to attend and find out more about the available support on offer. We can take you through the application process and answer any questions you might have.

The event takes place on 4 July 10-11am at the Elmbridge Civic Centre, High Street, Esher, KT10 9SD.

Please email us to indicate your interest in attending.
