Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund
Elmbridge Borough Council is committed to sustaining a vital and vibrant local economy, supporting local businesses and encouraging
training and employment opportunities for our residents. In order to meet this commitment a grant scheme - the Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund (ECIF) has been established.
What sort of projects can receive the grant ?
Applications for grants are welcome for environmental and business projects within Elmbridge that benefit the local economy and attract the public to local services and amenities. This could include:
- Street furniture and street scene improvements
- Initiatives to improve the use and appearance of empty shops
- Improving shop fronts
- Promotions and marketing initiatives
- Learning and skills or training initiatives
- Initiatives to promote community improvement projects

How to apply and funding
Applications are for one-off grants only with no ongoing expenditure for Elmbridge Borough Council. Grants for between 25% and 75% of eligible costs are available. Applicants are expected to fund at least 25% of the total project costs.

Key Points for Applicants
- Provide as much information as possible to support application
- New businesses ideally need a business plan to maximise eligible costs for grant funding
- For use of premises or improvements, landlord consents are required
- Consult local people, businesses and councillors
- We will carry out checks depending on type of application
