Elmbridge Business Network's Annual General Meeting
took place on 14 March with over 60 delegates present.

Business were also asked what Elmbridge Business Network could do to make Elmbridge a better place to do business. Although only a few replies were received, these included a request for funding for staff training and a request for closer working with Surrey County Council. As a result, the business which asked about training was directed to the |Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund and Surrey County Council was invited to consult Elmbridge Business Network on relevant issues. Flying the Flag for Business - Opportunities for the London 2012 Games
Surrey County Council, Elmbridge Borough Council and Elmbridge Business Network arranged a business information event in March 2011, examining the opportunities offered by the |London 2012 Games for local businesses.
The Elmbridge Business Network will continue to examine business opportunities in the lead up to the London 2012 Games and circulate relevant information to its members.

About Elmbridge Business Network
The Elmbridge Business Network was formed in April 2006. It aims to bring together business representatives from across the borough to work on projects and initiatives which will help ensure that Elmbridge retains its vibrant local economy. As such this forum is responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of the 'Enhancing the Local Economy' section of the |Elmbridge Sustainable Community Strategy 2006-2015.
The Elmbridge Business Network also provides vital networking and engagement opportunities to ensure that businesses have a voice in the borough.
Recent activities have included the promotion of |business recycling, sponsorship of the pilot Esher Shuttle Bus and activities to address traffic congestion.
Committee
Membership on the Elmbridge Business Network Committee is extended to two representatives from each geographical area of the borough. This enables the committee to extend out into the various geographical business partnerships and forums, which operate successfully throughout Elmbridge. These include:

- |Federation of Small Businesses
- |Molesey Business Association
- |Surrey Chambers of Commerce
- |Walton Business Group
- |Weybridge Organisations Working (WOW)

Membership
You can join Elmbridge Business Network free of charge and receive relevant information, such as invitations to events and e-newsletters. |You can sign up by completing your details online. (Your details will be held by Elmbridge Borough Council on behalf of the Business Network.)
Grants
The Business Network has a fund to give small grants to groups of local businesses to help set up innovative projects and initiatives. An |information pack, including grant criteria, is available to download. You can |apply online or contact the |Corporate Policy and Partnerships team for an application form.
Elmbridge Borough Council also operates the |Elmbridge Civic Improvement Fund, which supports environmental and business projects that benefit the local economy and attract the public to local services and amenities.
Business Network Panel consultation
To ensure that local businesses have an opportunity to have their say on the delivery of local services, Elmbridge Borough Council consults members of the Business Network through a Business Network Panel. For more information, |visit the Business Network Panel webpage.
