Business Continuity

Events such as fires, floods and bad weather are regularly in the news. But what is the impact if it happens to your business?

Business Continuity is about identifying and reducing risks that could affect your business and having arrangements in place to minimise the impact of any incident. It helps your business handle the emergency, continue to function and recover afterwards. Many organisations now insist suppliers/contractors have business continuity arrangements in place.

Rather than focus on different types of incident, Business Continuity looks at the impact of a range of issues, such as:

  • loss of staff
  • loss of IT and/or telecommunications
  • loss of utilities
  • loss of premises (or access to premises)
  • loss of key suppliers
  • transport disruption

Arrangements do not need to be complex.
