Historic Buildings

Approximately 750 buildings in Elmbridge are statutorily listed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as being of special architectural or historic interest, and are graded I, II*, or II according to their importance.

Listed Building Consent is required for demolition, alteration or any extension which affects the character or appearance of an Historic Building.

Historic Buildings Grants - Elmbridge Borough Council operates a small discretionary grants scheme to contribute toward the cost of repair and maintenance of statutorily and locally listed buildings and significant unlisted buildings in conservation areas.
