The ELM Partnership was formed in response to Surrey's 'Organising for Success' initiative that proposed schools voluntarily organise themselves into collaborative networks which have a formal structure and become the focal point for thedevelopment of education, health and well being for the children and young people in the area.
Head Teachers in Elmbridge have a history of working collaboratively and this presented the opportunity to formalise their joint working and to build on the good links that already existed between many of the schools in Elmbridge.
Every school in Elmbridge was given the opportunity to join the proposed federation, and of these 23 schools and colleges expressed a wish to participate. The interested schools agreed aims, value and belief statements and also a structure for leadership and management of the federation, which was initially known as the Elmbridge Learning Federation.
In July 04 the Management committee agreed that 'ELM Partnership' was a more appropriate reflection of the collaborative focus and thus the federation was renamed.
Values and Belief Statement
Values: The ELM Partnership is founded on a commitment to sharing, integrity, openness, inclusion and equal partnership for the benefit of all our pupils.
Belief Statement: The core purpose of the ELM Partnership is to address the needs of our collective community in order to raise standards of achievement and community well being.
