| Buying/Selling Annual Leave Policy | We encourage all employees to take their full annual leave entitlement every year. The basic leave entitlement is 23 days, increasing to 25 days after 2 years continuous local government service, increasing again to 28 days after a total of 5 years continuous local government service. Employees can choose to buy a maximum of 10 days annual leave in each leave year (pro-rata for part time employees) or sell up to 5 days annual leave (at your manager's discretion). |

| Annual Season Ticket Loan | An interest free loan is available to allow employees to purchase an annual bus or train season ticket. |
| Care of Dependents leave | Employees have a statutory right to take emergency leave for Care of Dependants which is unpaid. The Council recognises that this could cause hardship at a time when employees are already facing potentially significant problems. The Council will grant up to 3 days paid emergency leave (pro rata for part time employees). |
| Childcare Vouchers | Do you pay for childcare and want to save money? Elmbridge Borough Council offer all qualifying parents the opportunity to purchase Childcare Vouchers through a company called SodexhoPASS. |
| Community Time Policy | All employees have the opportunity to take part in the community engagement scheme. Through this you may take special leave of up to 8 hours a year to undertake voluntary work within the Borough of Elmbridge (pro rata for employees working less than 36 hours per week). |
| Council Tax | Monthly paid staff who live within the Borough of Elmbridge can pay their Council Tax through their salary. Staff paying their Council Tax by this method for the whole year will receive 12 monthly instalments (rather than the more usual 10). |

| Flexible Working policy | This policy has been introduced to allow eligible employees greater flexibility in their working day provided the work of the Division is not affected. |
| Flu Vaccinations | Flu jabs are offered to all staff in the Autumn of each year. |

| Specsavers Eye Tests | If you use a VDU regularly as part of your job, the Council will issue a voucher which entitles you to a free full eye examination at any Specsavers Store. If you are found to require glasses solely for VDU use you will then be entitled to a pair of single vision glasses. |
| Term time working | Term-time working at Elmbridge Borough Council has been introduced to enable employees to work while also having responsibility for school age children. |
