Pensions

All permanent employees (with a contract of more than 3 months) up to 75 years of age are entitled to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Surrey County Council administers this on behalf of Elmbridge Borough Council.

Full details of the scheme including benefits are detailed on the |Pensions section of their website.

The benefits include a lump sum payment on retirement plus a monthly pension. These are based on your final salary and your length of continuous local government service.

Joining the scheme is optional but if you join both you and Elmbridge Borough Council will make monthly contributions to the scheme. Employee contributions are calculated on annual pay and range between 5.5% - 7.5% of gross salary.
