The Audit Commission (the local government watchdog) rated Elmbridge Borough Council as 'excellent' in its last Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA). The Audit Commission has also recently put Elmbridge in the top seven district councils in the country for our '|use of resources' by giving us a 4 out of 4 rating.
Despite our 'excellent' status, we are not complacent. We are always looking for ways to improve and to give our residents better quality services. To help achieve this, we are undertaking an ambitious programme of VFM reviews. We will review every service over the next two years.

How we do it
Prioritisation
Every council service is prioritised for review using a specially-designed toolkit which takes into account service performance and customer feedback.
Review process
The VFM review takes place over a maximum of one week and is based on a service area's responses to a set of key lines of enquiry. These key lines of enquiry identify how our costs compare to other councils while taking into account our local context, performance, and policy choices.
